Centre for Advanced Performance Engineering driver Anna Walewska won the 24H Dubai 2016 with Century Motorsport.
Anna Walewska was part of a Century Motorsport team of four who took turns behind the wheel of the Ginetta G55 to triumph in its SP3 class at The Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai in the Middle East.
There were a gruelling 533 laps and other team’s machines burst into flames in scorching conditions.
Third year students Daniel Rathmill and Lee Cutting were part of the pit crew – changing tyres and monitoring performance – as part of their studies at the university’s Centre for Advanced Performance Engineering.

Images of the race and of the University of Bolton team claiming the chequered flag were beamed live to the university’s stand at the world’s biggest motorsport show, Autosport International, being held in Birmingham until tomorrow.
Anna and the three other drivers – Nathan Freke, of Fenny Compton in Warwickshire, Tom Oliphant, of Royal Leamington Spa in Warwickshire, and Aleksander Schjerpen, from Norway – were debuting the Ginetta G55 in the Dubai race.
Century Motorsport will once again compete in the British GT4 Championship whose 2016 season begins in April.
