British GT Championship racer Anna Walewska prepared for the season ahead with her new team mate, Callum Hawkins-Row, on a race car simulator at Silverstone this week.
Anna, ambassador for The University of Bolton’s National Centre for Motorsport Engineering, who joined Team Hard in the off-season, had her first outing behind the wheel of her new Ginetta G55 GT4 race car since the closing round of the 2017 campaign last September.
Her only mileage with her new team for 2018 was at the British GT Championship’s official media day at Donington Park earlier this month where the new car was shaken down.
With the season due to get underway in little than over two weeks time, with an Easter weekend meeting at Oulton Park, Walewska was keen to add to her pre-season preparations.
Her new 2018 team-mate, 17-year-old Callum Hawkins-Row a driver on the Andy Priaulx Sports Management Programme (APSM) is a young up and coming driver who Anna is looking forward to pairing with this season in British GT.
As part of their pre-season training, and in an effort to get to know each other a little better, the pair spent time together at I Zone Performance’s race car simulator at the specialist firm’s Silverstone base.
The simulator directly replicates Team Hard’s Ginetta G55 GT4 and its advanced technology can be pre-loaded with many UK circuit layouts and weather conditions providing real-time tests and evaluations for the season ahead.
She said: “It’s great to be back behind the wheel of the Ginetta again after a long winter break and I’m excited for the season ahead driving with Callum. Car shakedown went well on media day and we plan to test before the first round which will be beneficial to us both. It was great to have the support of the NCME students their and I’m looking forward to sharing my race weekends with them”.
Their first British GT race is on Easter Monday at Oulton Park ahead of a further six rounds visiting Britain’s top motor racing circuits and Spa in Belgium in-the-course of the season.
